Does hypnotherapy work for everyone?
No, it is fair to say there are some individuals who for various reasons will not respond to hypnosis. Maybe they have other issues that get in the way (usually to do with belief or trust.) Very often it is do with timing and the client is just not ready to change. The good news is that I use other treatments alongside hypnotherapy, one of them being EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). EFT can be highly effective in relieving symptoms and resolving issues; or counselling skills.

Questions are sometimes raised about safety?
Whether those under hypnosis would remain in their ‘sleep’ state if, for example, fire were to break out around them: and the answer is that, like sleep, hypnosis has its own safeguards. The impact of traffic noise is negligible on people who live on main roads and are constantly exposed to heavy vehicles rumbling past their windows, but if their door handle clicked, they would immediately awaken. Just as a mother, undisturbed by routine nocturnal sounds, will always be aroused by the cry of her baby, at the first hint of danger – real or imagined – the hypnotised person will immediately become fully alert.
Hypnosis is perfectly safe, one of the most risk free complementary therapies around. Just check with the insurance companies. If anybody knows about risks then they do. Take away all the hype and misconceptions connected with hypnosis and there is nothing to fear, unless you fear being a success. |
